Job Summary:
The Tractor & Telehandler Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of machinery at mine site rehabilitation projects. This role involves operating various machines, maintaining equipment, and adhering to site procedures and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Machinery Operations:
- Operate tractors and telehandlers efficiently and safely.
- Utilize John Deere GPS screens and other machine interfaces.
- Adjust machine rates as required for optimal performance.
- Load and unload machines on trucks, ensuring secure and safe transport.
General Machine Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Check and fill fluids on machines regularly.
- Perform greasing and lubrication of machinery.
- Blow and wash machines to maintain cleanliness.
- Conduct basic servicing of the machines.
- Remove string from the mulch drum to prevent operational issues.
Mining Operations:
- Understand and follow site procedures and protocols.
- Conduct pre-start checks on all machinery.
- Construct and interpret Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents.
- Participate in on-site and off-site inductions.
- Complete necessary computer work for inductions and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Experience operating John Deere tractors & spreaders, telehandlers, or similar heavy machinery. Tractor and/or telehandler RII preferred.
- Familiarity with John Deere GPS screens and other machine interfaces.
- Basic mechanical skills for machine maintenance.
- Knowledge of mining site procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to construct and understand JSAs.
- Proficiency in completing inductions and related computer work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Working Conditions:
- Work primarily at mine site locations: current projects Blackwater, Comet, Dysart, Middlemount.
- Working hours: 5-2 Roster (negotiable) Emerald Base, 12 hours onsite, with up to 40 minutes travel to and from the site.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
KPI (Key Performance Indicators that you will be expected to meet):
- Daily-Prestarts
- Daily-Machine Hours Start and Finish times
- Daily-Work area completion journal.
- Weekly Values check
Payment:
- $40 per hour, full-time, depending on experience. Experience operating tractors and telehandlers is highly preferred. Mine Medical and Standard 11 qualifications are also preferable.
